Welcome to the official website of St Keyne and Trewidland Parish Council

Future homes in St Keyne

There has been a great deal of discussion on social media recently about the prospect of up to 500 new homes being built opposite Valley View in St Keyne. I’d like to give you all some background to this, and reassure you that nothing – nothing – like this is happening next week or next year. We’ll be discussing this at the next public meeting on 11 February in Trewidland Village Hall – but be assured, there are NO 500 house plans in the pipeline at the moment. Look out for your next edition of The Informer for a longer article.

Help us improve the roads in our parish

South East Cornwall is set to receive nearly £135,000 from Cornwall Council’s annual highways improvement fund and we’re asking our residents to submit practical suggestions by 9 February to help us prioritise schemes.

Projects must align with six strategic goals:
• Climate Change: Promoting walking, cycling, and cleaner fuels.
• Economic Prosperity: Improving sustainable transport links to jobs and education.
• Environment: Protecting nature and reducing air pollution.
• Healthy Lifestyles: Making active travel safer and easier.
• Community Safety: Reducing traffic speeds and anti-social behavior.
• Equal Opportunities: Assisting those with limited transport options due to age or disability.

Funding cannot be used for third-party land, isolated yellow lines, drainage, feasibility studies, or routine maintenance like potholes. Ideas can be submitted via email or to councillors at local events.

So – get your thinking caps on and tell us what your ideas are – before 9 February please. Use the 'Enquiries' button top right to send us your ideas.

Salting & Gritting - what you need to know

The parish council has 9 salt bins across the parish that residents can use to clear any public path, pavement or road if the ground is icy or if you think it’s going to freeze over. It’s not for people to use on their own private driveway, garden path or business premises.
